Though there are a number of red downward arrows in this report, keep in mind these numbers reflect closed sales, and I believe we will see those arrows turn as we move through this year.

There were a large number of contracts written in the month of April, and those “pending” contracts will become closed sales in the next month or two.

Additionally, we have entered our historical sales season, and that will impact the number of contracts and closings in the next few months as well.

Kelli Salter, Broker/REALTOR, Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage

Daddy Dolls, Inc., Byte Sized Moments, and Homes by Kelli are excited to announce the 2015 Hug-A-Hero® Holiday Salute.

Kelli Salter, Broker/REALTOR® is the exclusive sponsor of the 2015 Hug-A-Hero® Holiday Salute.

Deployments are tough on children, especially during the holidays.  That is why the Hug-A-Hero® Holiday Salute is so important to Kelli.  She knows firsthand how difficult this can be. Kelli’s husband, Michael, has proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for eight years and has been already been deployed four times.  Watching her son say good-bye to his daddy is heartbreaking.  Keeping Daddy close is even more important during this time which is why Kelli’s son has his own Hug-A-Hero® doll.  Kelli is even more excited to be able to share this experience with 100 other children who have a Mommy or Daddy deployed this Christmas.

The Hug-A-Hero® Holiday Salute will give 100 Hug-A-Hero® dolls to local military children who will be separated from a deployed parent during this holiday season.  To add to the experience, each Hug-A-Hero® doll will be hand delivered along with a personalized video message recorded by the deployed parent.  Better yet, as the child is viewing the video and receiving their gift, their reaction will also be captured and sent to the deployed parent so they may share in the experience.

“I am delighted to be the exclusive sponsor of the 2015 Hug-A-Hero® Holiday Salute.  As a military family, we understand the sacrifice of having to spend the holidays away from our loved ones. I hope each one of these children enjoy a special connection with their deployed parent this Christmas season.” – Kelli Salter

MARSOC Foundation Fundraising

My view of the world changed on March 10, 2015. I was sitting in my office at my parent’s house early that morning. My dad walked in and said “There’s been a helicopter go down in the Gulf. The local news is saying there were special operations Marines in the aircraft.” My heart immediately sank. “Special operations” and “Marines” can usually only mean one thing — MARSOC. As the local news began to gather at the crash site, we began to see pieces of the aircraft wash ashore. We prayed and prayed for their safety, for their families, and for the MARSOC community as a whole. I knew in my heart that if there was anyone who could have survived the crash, it would be these guys.

My husband and I grew up about 60 miles from the site of the crash and my husband was deployed with 2nd Marine Raider Battalion at that time. Our hearts crumbled. This was the closest I had ever been to death in the military. I knew it was my responsibility as a fellow MARSOC wife to do something to help these families. They were our friends, friends of our community, and our kindred spirits. I found a local race supporting military heroes and signed up to be a Miles for MARSOC athlete. On April 4th, I ran a 5K in support of the MARSOC Foundation. Through my fundraising I raised more than $8,000 for the Foundation, including a corporate sponsorship to have the names of the 7 MARSOC Marines engraved on the memorial at the MARSOC headquarters in Stone Bay, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. I have participated in a lot of races in my lifetime, but this one was different. I hadn’t run any since the birth of our son and it was a struggle, but all throughout the race I kept going and telling myself “we will not leave these families behind.” You see, one of the Raiders’ sayings is “Never Above You, Never Below You, Always Beside You.” I felt the spirit of the community as we ran that day. The true spirit of 7 warriors who left behind families and a community who love them dearly.

You can support the MARSOC Foundation to continue helping these families by visiting the link below or you can support the funding for the monument at Navarre Beach in Florida to commemorate their lives. If you can’t give, please continue to pray for their families.

Dr. Bell and Covert Family Denistry Gives Back!

I had a blast at the dentist today! I know what you’re thinking…right, Kelli!

I arrived for a rather unpleasant procedure. Alysia met me with a big smile and something I didn’t expect– two high school students. These students were going to observe my procedure. Kiera and Taylor were from local high schools and were touring local businesses to shadow different professionals. These ladies came armed with many questions for Alysia and Dr. Ambrose from how they chose their professions to how much money Alysia makes! Alysia gleefully answered their questions. She spoke with great joy about her job, her patients, and how much fun she has each day! The conversation lasted through the duration of my procedure! The students and Alysia certainly kept me entertained! I am grateful to Dr. Bell and Covert Family Dentistry for giving these students an opportunity to learn from their staff and an opportunity for me to meet a new friend in Alysia! Thank you for investing in our community!
